ABOUT US
Let them eat cake.
We’re making college dough.
KY Popplings began the way all highly
sophisticated business ventures begin:
On a completely normal Thursday afternoon in our kitchen.
There was no business plan. No market research. No team of consultants.Just a mom, two boys, some cake—and an idea that got out of hand remarkably fast.
One idea. Three Pop Makers. 50,000 Popplings. Let's do this.

What started as cake pops shaped like little dumplings quickly became something much bigger. We sat around the kitchen throwing out flavors and brainstorming different faces.
And once they had faces, they needed names. So we started throwing out ridiculous names...
And once they had names…well, obviously they needed personalities.
Things Started Popping.

Meet the Pop Makers

AMANDA
CHIEF POP OFFICER
Mom. Idea person.
Brand builder.
Frequently says, “Wait…what if we did this?” approximately three seconds after everyone thought we were finished.
One idea has a tendency to become seventeen.
KY Popplings is Exhibit A.

CONNOR
VP OF POPERATIONS
Our resident comedian and impressive source of dad jokes for someone who is not, in fact, a dad.
If there's a pun to be made, Connor will find it.
Quality control may also involve eating things.
We're investigating.

FINN
CHIEF FLAVOR OFFICER
Our numbers guy and firm believer that sprinkles aren't a decoration—they're a unit of measurement.
His current formula:
Recommended Amount ×
3 = Correct Amount.
Peer review is ongoing.
AND THEN FINN DID THE MATH
Connor has about 6 years before he applies to college.

Finn has about 8.
Somewhere between naming dumplings and debating the appropriate amount of sprinkles, our silly little idea started to feel like it could become something more.
So we asked:
What if the boys didn't just sell cake—but learned how to build something?
Make it. Price it. Market it. Sell it. Solve problems. Earn money. And learn to save it.
So Finn did what Finn does.
HE DID THE MATH.
Using roughly $100,000 per kid as our wildly ambitious college-savings target:
$200,000.
At an average goal of about $4 in profit per Poppling toward college savings, that works out to approximately…
